PhysicianAuthor

Jeffrey T Junig MD PhD

Retired from practice — still writing.

Physician, writer, and founder of Suboxone Talk Zone, writing about addiction treatment, psychiatry, neuroscience, and the strange turns of a life in medicine.

I'm a physician who spent decades in solo practice before retiring. These days I write — about medicine, memory, and the curious gap between how we expect the world to work and how it actually does.

If you found this page while looking for a psychiatrist, I'm no longer seeing patients. I hope you find the care you need.

About & Background

These are the places where I write and post most often.

I'm also working on a memoir about my years in medicine.

I'm writing a memoir about a life lived both inside and outside the practice of medicine — and the strange turns that shaped it.

Medicine teaches us many things about the body — but sometimes the most difficult lessons are about ourselves.

Work in Progress

It traces a path through neuroscience research, anesthesiology, addiction treatment, and the strange turns that follow when a physician refuses to follow the script. Along the way are moments of success and failure, illness, investigation, and recovery — and an attempt to understand what those experiences reveal about medicine, resilience, and the human condition.

The story is still unfolding.

No newsletter barrage, no marketing campaign — just a note when the memoir is ready.
